STEINER x2 SPEAKING
"Darci has written a book laced with hope and courage and tenacity. She reminds us of the backwards economy of Jesus where the weak are the strong and those who sometimes feel left behind will lead us."

If you are experiencing a season of suffering, you will find hope, humor, and healing throughout the pages of Beauty Beyond the Thorns: Discovering Gifts in Suffering. Modern-day stories of suffering are paralleled with biblical accounts of healing that will both enrich your understanding of the Bible and provide hope for your personal journey.
We all need healing, whether experiencing physical or emotional pain from the thorns of divorce, job loss, grief, addiction, disability, or financial troubles. When we follow Jesus, God offers us gifts such as joy, hope, compassion, and mercy to help us not only endure our suffering but find meaning in it.
In Beauty Beyond the Thorns and its companion, Study Guide for Beauty Beyond the Thorns, Darci inspires and equips us to endure trials with meaningful insights she has gained during her trials. Look inside for inspiration and to learn how to discover empowering gifts to assist you along your life journey.

"I love the content of Beauty Beyond the Thorns—it’s a wonderful mix of intellectually stimulating information, theologically inspiring exegesis, personal stories, and incredible poetry.
I believe this book would be an extraordinary blessing to anyone who wants to walk with Jesus every day. I can only begin to imagine the impact it would have on someone who deals with chronic pain or significant tragedy."

Darci Steiner perfectly blends the Bible with the triumphs and tragedies of everyday life in her book, Beauty Beyond the Thorns. Every chapter leaves you longing for the next, to see how spirituality and the human spirit can work together to make the world a better place. A must-read for your soul!"

"A journey through time, culture, pain, and the divine stories found within them all, Darci Joy Steiner's unique devotional is one to be savored slowly. Each chapter in Beauty Beyond the Thorns: Discovering Gifts in Suffering is filled with perspective that can only come from one who has walked out the reality of each title. You'll not find shallow platitudes; rather, you'll be deeply encouraged in your own journey of faith to see God's presence in rich and meaningful ways."

"In this moving and very personal book, Darci Steiner allows the wisdom of scripture to be refracted through the prism of her own suffering. Even in the midst of pain, she finds gifts from God everywhere in her experience, and she has written in this volume a testament that is itself a gift to all who read it."
—DR. THOMAS G. LONG
Bandy Professor Emeritus of Preaching, Candler School of Theology, Emory University, author of What Shall We Say: Evil Suffering and the Crisis of Faith
*****
"Darci has an excellent and rare presence as an author. She is beautifully honest, humble, and powerful. Her beauty lies in the calmness of her tone while discussing earth-shattering revelations about God and suffering.
Truly, I wish I had had this book to read when I went through the last 5 years of my own life. Steiner's premise of the book is while she previously went through tragedy and pain, she realized good DID come from it. To now be suffering again, Darci is almost suffering with excitement for what God is trying to teach her. It's astounding."
